I worked at Kerrang! Magazine as a junior designer and covered a wide variety of spreads from event listing templates, live reviews to feature spreads, along with adverts and extra mini magazines. In amongst the examples are a couple spreads from when I freelanced at Rock Sound.
EVENT / TYPOGRAPHY
POSTERS
During my university years and for some time after I worked on concert posters for local bands, venues, promoters and organisations. Along with this as part of a personal project I dug up movie quotes and lyrics and turned them into typographic designs. I ended up creating these designs in different formats such as floating box frames, vinyls, button badges and prints.

BRANDING
With a mix of indoor and outdoor shows branding needed to remain neutral alongside Orchard's already existing identity. I altered what I could within the brand guideline limits whilst trying to stay consistent and familiar. With only a weekend of shows to promote, the AAE brand had a more direct aim that could be approached with a more vibrant mindset.

On the occasion there wasn’t any touring artwork I was allowed to create my own artwork for the show that would need to be approved by management. The smaller club shows allowed me to be more creative and break away from the typical large show formulas. Wombo and Midnight Rodeo are examples of myself being allowed to create artwork that tied in with the artists style/up coming album.

From teasing the show announcement to the final countdown. There’s not many digital or print options that wasn't tried. From shopping centre bins to 96 sheets, 10,000 flyers to magazine covers, I’m used to last minute deadlines and large scale print. The designs would use artist approved tour artwork, which at times could be challenging to edit into different sizes.

SHOW DAY ASSETS
During the lead up to the events across all locations I’d need to complete a list of required assets, this could include anything from stage screens to accreditation, heras banners to fan guides.

ARTIST TOUR PACKAGE
As part of a tour announcement I took new press shots along with some video content. I created the tour artwork along with individual dates as posters and social media assets ready to be sent out to promoters/venues. This also included layered PSDs for them to add their own ticket links etc.
